My name is Bud Steed. I’m an author, paranormal investigator, and researcher dedicated to uncovering the hidden stories behind haunted locations and forgotten history. To date, I’ve written and published nine books, five traditionally published and four self-published, focused on historical paranormal sites, regional folklore, and unexplained legends.

With a background in investigative work, I approach each project with a methodical eye. My books are grounded in documented history, supported by records and firsthand accounts, and shaped by the legends that give these places their enduring mystery. I strive to balance fact with atmosphere, respecting historical accuracy while acknowledging the questions that still linger.

I bring over 45 years of paranormal investigation experience to my research, offering a perspective shaped by decades of fieldwork and case study. Current projects include Haunted Hotels and Inns and expanding my catalog into audiobooks to make these stories more accessible.

While much of my work centers on documented historical investigations through the America’s Ghosts series, I also write Southern Gothic fiction in The Cemetery Diaries. These fictional narratives are inspired by real landscapes, forgotten cemeteries, and the quiet tension between history and imagination. Through fiction, I explore the emotional echoes of places where memory lingers long after the facts have been recorded.
